Wednesday Wish List - Missguided eddition.

Hello babes! Hope everyone is doing well  this week :) mid-week party time already woo! Today the long- lost Wednesday Wish List section is back with a very special twist! Most of you I'm sure will have by now heard of http://www.missguided.co.uk/ the amazing online fashion website! Missguided has a fabulous selection of gorgeous outfits from party dresses to holiday ready summer dresses

I am absolutely loving the site at the moment - mostly because I can be as lazy as I want on a Saturday, avoid the manic push and shove of the city center and still find some gorge clothes to add to my bursting wardrobe. Here are my top favourites from Missguided today :

Firstly we have this amazing pale blue printed maxi dress which I completely and utterly fell in love with. The delicate colour scheme and cute pattern are just so feminine and cute without being sickly! This to me is a very Nicole Richie/Rachel Zoe style dress and I'd team it with some sandals and a denim jacket for a real summer feel.
Missguided £32.99

Next up we have this flirty and glam frock which would be perfect for those Summer Nights (ew singing Grease in my head now) as it's sexy and sassy and flattering in black but also lightweight enough to cope with the heat of a Summer Club. Perfecto.
Missguided £24.99
Next we have these fierce wedges which I personally think again look very Nicole Richie - I can imagine her teaming them with a gorgeous floral dress to toughen it up. I'd team with skinny jeans and a loose tee for a look that screams laid back glamour, or with the black dress above for a chic party time look.
Missguided £35.99

Then we have this beautiful demure day dress that I think would be amazing for a summer date. The cute floral patterning and floaty hemline keep it quirky whilst the length and cut keep it appropriate (no flashing on the first date) I'd team either with nude courts like the model in the picture or with some super pretty sandals for a more casual affair.
We then have this divine Mocha shaded maxi dress that is the ultimate in relaxed glamour. The beautiful colour would look gorgeous with your summer tans and the super flattering cut allows you to keep your shape whilst it skims any post-holiday overindulgences - my kind of holiday essential.
Missguided £17.99

Finally we have these completely fierce platform heels. I adore the bold colour of them - think how much they'd jazz up your favourite LBD. These are perfect for those girls who want to get in on the colour-blocking trend but feel a little too self-conscious to wrap their body in hot pink lyrca! Additionally these would look incredible in winter teamed with some sexy leather leggings!
Missguided £35.99

So there you are lovelies! What do you think of the lovely missguided? Personally they're deffo a fave of mine - trendy as hell and perfect for fashion on a budget!
Check them out and let me know what you'd love to be buying this week <3

OOTD Vintage Print

Hey beauties - woah what a gorgeous day we're having here in England! (Definitely feels alien writing that sentance) currently I'm sitting out in the garden with the family with my legs in the sun and my head in the shade - something tells me I'm about to be rocking a whole new type of two tone colour blocking ;).

Anyway, whilst im still relatively normal looking I have a new OOTD to show you all curtesy of a great shopping trip with the awesome boyfriend yesterday. I picked up a few bits and bobs (and got thouroughly spoiled <3) and one of the items I purchased was this :

I absolutely had to get this dress when I saw it the vintage print reminded me of Gwen Stefani's infamous Tea-Dress in the 'Don't Speak' Video which I've always adored and so I just had to snap it up, especially because it was a bargain at just £24.99 from Republic!

My shoes are from Debenhams and my jewellery as always is curtesy of the other half <3

Hope you like lovelies! Enjoy your Sunday!

What to wear - Weddings

Ahh yes bloggers, it's that wonderful time of year where everyone near and dear to you seems to be jumping on the 'just married' bandwagon; a time of joy, happiness and enjoyment with friends and family, but also a time of the dreaded: “Omg, what the hell am I going to wear?!” moments.

Weddings seem to confuse even the most prepared dresser sometimes and leave most of us high, dry and too busy getting het up over whether our outfit is appropriate to take the time to enjoy the moment. So, what I've done for you today is compile a small list of 'rules' to give you an idea of what I personally think is the most appropriate wear for weddings and then designed a couple of taster outfits to show you!

Firstly - My little set of Rules - I'm no wedding expert and you might completely disagree with me but here is my personal opinions/advice on the subject:

- Dont wear white - Seems stupidly obvious but some people still seem to consider it ... just no, it's not fair you can wear white to any other event in the world except for a wedding where the bride is in white. If the bride however is in red/pink/any other colour then it's slightly less set in stone that you should't and should be just fine.
- Dont wear anything too short, too tight or showing lots and lots of cleavage EG Lilly Allens sister at her wedding last week. I usually have nothing against a short skirt or a low cut top if that's what you like but weddings generally aren't the place.
- Stick to more muted shades - This similar to the white ban can be subject to the specific wedding but overall I think wearing more subtle shades is the way to go for a wedding - the aim being to let the bride + groom shine and support them from outside the spotlight.

Now here are some outfits I've put together:

Outfit One

First up we have this neutral coloured outfit. Now as long as you steer away from the glaringly 'Bridal' colour choices of White + Ivory etc there is no reason why you shouldn't rock some gorgeous neutrals. The dusky colour of this dress is absolutely stunning - very unique and perfectly acceptable. The flattering fit is both demure but flattering and skims any wobbly tummies. Also the neckline is appropriate keeping cleavage covered but allowing a little glimpse of shoulder. The nude heels would elongate pins and keep the outfit looking sleek whilst the cute clutch adds a little fun. For a very formal ceremony simply add a blazer or shrug over the top and then remove for festivities.

Outfit Two

This outfit is probably my favourite, the gorgeous dove grey dress is flirty and feminine without being too cutesy. It's a little low cut so probably more suitable for smaller busted women or with a bolero/shrug over the top for a more formal ceremony. The cut and material work together on this dress to create a gorgeous fitted yet skimming effect. The nude shoes again elongate and slim your pins whilst the cute clutch is classic yet pretty. Elegant candy toned jewellery finishes off the look.

Outfit Three

Look Three is far more quirky than the first two looks, the super cute skirt is girly and gorgeous but also quite edgy and funky. The soft mint green top adds a splash of colour without being too glaring or overpowering. The clutch keeps the look sharp and classy and then the outrageously hot shoes manage to combine classic style and funky fun - perfect.

Outfit Four
Wedding 4
Lastly we have outfit four which is a slightly more exotic wedding look. This look would perhaps be most suited to a wedding that was taking place abroad or in the very height of Summer. It's a little bit hippie chic and again not as formal as the first two although it is still very classy. The gorgeous maxi dress is elegant yet relaxed at the same time allowing both style and comfort. The lovely colour would work perfectly with a deep tan or equally well with a pale complexion and the gold accessories would only serve to enhance its beauty.

So there we are my loves, my personal guide to wedding fashion, I hope you enjoyed it and don't worry if you totally disagree with me everyone has different opinions on these occasions ha-ha.

Also - If you'd like to see what set consists of click on the photo and it will take you to my polyvore where you can see the list of everything included!

Enjoy.

Look For Less - Leighton Meester

Hi loves, hope you're all well despite it being Glumday Monday ha-ha. Today I'm feeling very efficient and attempting to start ticking things off that huge long list of 'DO THIS NOW' ha-ha, how do you lovelies get organised? Do you self-motivate or are you always needing that extra push (like me ha-ha) I'd love to hear about what get's you working and maybe pinch some tricks!

Anyway, today I have a 'Look For Less' for you which I just had to do as soon as I saw it (mainly because I want this outfit ha-ha) it's the lovely Leighton Meester at the Vera Wang frangrance launch in London.

Here's Leighton looking amaaazing :

Leighton lovely look consisted of :
- Vera wang top + trousers
- Brian Atwood Platforms
And Danijo Jewellery

And now here is how you can get the look for a lot less :

This lovely pleated top is a gorgeous dusky pink/nude colour - perfect for summer summer styling. It could be dressed up or down for any occasion and looks light enough to even work as a gorgeous coverup on the beach. The lightweight material and loose cut would make it super flattering too as it'd easily hide post-party bloat!
ASOS £17.50

These super hot Leather Leggings could easily become a wardrobe staple - dress them up with a pretty top + killer heels like in this outfit, or wear them with an oversized tee, cropped jacket + big scarf for a super cool rock n roll off duty look. Classic and adaptable they're a must have.
 Miss Selfridge £18.00 .
Top tip - If you want a crinkled effect like Leightons leather pants have, simply buy the next size up pull up as high as possible + belt undeneath a long top to keep from falling down then because the leggings will be a little big they'll crinkle around the leg are giving you Leightons look.
Then we have the ultimate glamour factor with these incredible statement heels. Classic enough to be worn for a wedding but foxy enough to go party in these lovelies will serve you for a longtime!
New Look £29.99

Lastly finish off this look with this lovely chunky bracelet. Sleek and chic but with a bit of an edge it'd look fab teamed with any outfit.
ASOS £18.50

So there we are lovelies, Leightons Look for less!
Hope you like!

Thursday Feature - Dressing for your body shape

Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing brilliantly and looking forward to yet another week nearly coming to a close - hello weekend party time!

Now, as some of you may know when I set up Fashionismyh2o one of my main motivations was to show you ordinary regular girls that no matter what the size of your budget, or the size of your clothes are, you can all find a way to look fabulous. This has lead to me coming up with the idea for a regular feature on here which will be called 'Dressing for your body shape' throughout the posts that will feature in the 'Dressing for your body shape' section I hope to help showcase how every girl can find the right items of clothing for her shape, her body and of course her bulging wardrobe.

So, today we have the first 'Dressing for your body shape' post (I'm so excited/nervous it's ridiculous)

For this first feature I wanted to pick an item that every girl needs in her closet and therefore although it's a complete cliche it just had to be:
The Little Black Dress

So without further rambling here is my guide on Dressing for your body shape LBD style:

Shape Number One - Pear
Pear Shaped lovelies typically have a petite upper body - small chest, narrow shoulders, delicate neck and slender waist with a fuller lower body - rhythm worthy hips and larger thighs. Girls with this shape should look towards a dress that plays up your teeny waist & elegant shoulders whilst mimamizing the hip and thigh area.

Examples of Dresses that would flatter a Pear shape:

This beautiful slinky number would perfectly proportion a Pear shape. The nipped in waist with it's elegant details allows the focal point to fall on one of a Pear shapes most flattering features - A teeny waist. Then the lovely draped skirt skims over the hips and thighs to minimize attention. The one shouldered design also showcases the elegant upper body and works to slightly broaden the shoulders creating a flatteringly balanced silhoutte.

Or, this elegant Maxi- dress. The halter-neck neckline again gives the effect of slightly broadened shoulders, balancing out a bottom-heavy figure. Then the plunging neckline draws attention to the upper body whilst the beautiful floaty material skims the hips again hiding any problem area.

Shape Number Two - Hour- glass

Hour-glass girls are typically curvy with a defined waist, full shapely bust and hips that are equal to or slightly larger than the width of their shoulders. Girls who are hour-glass shaped are generally considered the luckiest as most clothing suits their shape. However it is important for them to make sure that they seek out structured and supportive clothing to show their curves off in the most flattering way.

Examples of dresses that would suit an hour-glass shape:

This lovely fitted number would work wonders on an Hour-glass body. The waist is nipped in whilst the top half is structured enough to give support to a curvy chest. The length allows a flattering 'pencil' style fit which highlights perfectly the curvacious shape whilst keeping it all in check.

Similarily this sexy number would be a must have for any hour-glass fashionista. In a similar style to the dress above it nips in at the waist and then clings flatteringly to the hips to display curves perfectly. However, the flattering pannelled material would work to keep those curves under check and in the right place

Shape Number Three - Apple
Apple shaped babes generally have a full chest, little or no waist definition and a larger stomach. Legs are generally shapely and so is the rear but thanks to all weight distrubution heading to the mid-riff Apple shapes are often the most conscious girls around. To flatter an Apple shape attention needs to be drawn down to fabulous pins and disguising of the stomach area is a must. However Apple shapes should resist the temptation to drown themselves in Tent-style garments as they will only serve to make them look larger and more shapeless.

Examples of Dresses that woiuld suit an Apple Shape:

This gorgeous fitted number may appear intimidating to Apple Shapes but thanks to the flattering 'wrap' style midriff section the 'problem area' of the stomach would largely be disguised. In addition thanks to the tapered style a waist would be created which would instantly work to even out an Apples unbalanced proportions and create a flattering look. Lastly the dress is also perfectly poised to show off those pins and make sure all eyes are on them. Right where you want them.
ASOS £21.00

This pretty little sundress would also work wonders on an Apple shape - The empire style waist works similarily to the dress above in creating a noticably smaller section of the middle which would appear waist-like and balance out proportions. The skimming flattering fabric of the dress would easily hide a larger stomach but the dress is still shaped enough to not give the illusion of a tent on legs. Talking of legs - once again on display here highlighting one of an Apples best assets.

Shape Number 4 - Rectangle.

Rectangle shaped ladies typically have a figure which doesn't have many curves, fairly straight up and down with a small to adverage sized chest and no real waist definition. Rectangular ladies should look to creating the illusion of curves for the most flattering effect and should also look to show off honed and toned pins.

Examples of dresses to suit  a Rectangular Shape :
This super cute LBD would be perfect for a rectangular body shape as the bow waist detail teamed with the slight flair of the skirt below it would work towards creating a sembelance of a waist. The short length meens more leg focus - perfect for rectangular chicas and then the pretty collared detail would help to add more femininity to the less curvacious lovely.

Lastly we have this gorgeous flirty number. This would again be spot on for a rectangular figure as the flared skirt would give the illusion of larger hips - adding valuable curves to a boyish figure. The elegant material and super cute belt would again add yet more femininity ensuring a lovely womanly look is created.
ASOS £40.00

So there we are lovelies, that's me finito!

I really really really hope you find this usefull and encouraging please let me know your opinions good or bad I'd love to hear feedback.
Most importantly though beleive in yourself! You're all absolutely gorgeous and with a few sneaky tricks can achieve top notch style!
