Decadent Winter Purchase

Hello beauties.
As those of you who've followed this blog for a while/follow me on twitter will knowI am rather partial to complaining about being cold/freezing/chilly/frozen/all of those.
This complaining is generally accompanied by endless longing for that perfect Winter coat that will keep me toastier than toast yet sleak and stylish as opposed to stuffy and puffy.

Well. After endless procrastination that beautiful day has finally arrived. Spurred on by the terrible influence that is my mother I purchased my very own devlishly gorgeous and decadently expensive Winter Coat
(decadently expensive for me anyway I'm the queen of not wanting to spend over £30)

Here it is in all it's cosy winter glory:

Outfit
1. The COAT - H&M
2. The Shoes - New Look
3. The Hat - Accessorise
4. The Gloves - H&M

I think I'm in love.
Have a good weekend girls

Feelin Lacy

Hey honey's! Happy Friday. Feels like this one has been a long time coming that's for sure. After the day from hell yesterday - Finance stress, two busses not turning up in the rain, having to pay for a taxi and pretty horrible family problems - I was not in the best of moods. However onwards and upwards they say and today the sun is shining, I'll be seeing my lovely boyfriend and having a nice long chat with my bestfriend later and I'm sure those two combined will make me a much happier bunny.

Sorry to ramble on anyways :p today I have for you a gorgeous trend that's quite frankly all over the place at the moment - much to my delight:

Lace

For me - the perfect mix of gothic, glamorous and ladylike with a decadent feel and effortless edge. A pretty intoxicating mix no?

Here are my favourite budget friendly lace pieces:
(breastcancer awareness too <3)
So there we are my loves. Hope you like!

Monday Must Have 24/10/11

Hey lovelies, another Monday morning is upon us - yuck! I hope you're all well and not too maudalin ha-ha. My plans today include spending some much needed time with my best friend, lots of blog catching up and braving my wasp infested garden (yikes) not sure what order the above tasks shall be done but that's my 'list' ha-ha. What're you all up to?

Todays 'Monday Must Have
' is quite an unusual pick for me. I tend to be all about leather and lace (I say this like it isn't painfully obvious) in the winter and leave items like this top for my Summer wardrobe, but something about it really caught my eye.
Let's have a look :

I think the combination of a gorgeous vintage style print, a slightly asymetric hem and a gorgeous rich background make this such a winner to me?

Here's some ways I've styled it:
Outfit One
Slightly Rachel Zoe Inspired - that cream fur vest is to dieee for, right? This outfit mixes gorgeous bohemian patterning with substancial winter warmth. Once the chill really kicks in I'd just add a rust coloured long sleeve top (Primark £3.99) underneath to keep combatting the chill. Any of these pieces could carry you through to Spring and beyond - how gorgeous would that bag look with a maxi and sandles in the Summer?

Outfit Two
Firstly, I feel the need to lamment to you all the fact that I'm absolutely desperate for a pair of moccassins (thanks for that Miss Richie) but can't seem to find the perfect pair when I actually go shopping anywhere - major boo! Moving on to the actual outfit I love the idea of teaming this top with a skirt - the fabric is just perfect for tucking into a chic bandage style skirt. The coat adds completely effortlessly chic to the outfit whilst the beautiful rich shade of the bag adds a delicious pop of colour.

Outfit Three
See, you knew it wouldn't be long before some leather snuck it's way into one of my outfit builds ;). I adore this build, I think the leather and the velvet fabric and tone of the bag give this look a real luxurious edge. The boots look both comfy and chic - the Holy Grail for shoes right? Lastly the cardigan manages to look like it would be incredibly cosy without being bulky. Throw on a couple of glam cocktail rings and you're good to go.

Outfit Four
Outfit Four is probably my favourite. I adore the mash-up of textures - the fur, the sheer and then the tough boots and the suede rich toned bag. They all combine to make this an outfit that I would absolutely love to be rocking right now. As with Outfit One once the chill factor drops yet further, merely slip a long sleeved top underneath the cosy fur for doubled up warmth. I could imagine the gorgeous Harriet rocking this look - and if that's not style inspiration, I'm not sure what is!

As per usual - if you love any particular item in these sets just leave a comment or tweet me and I'll hunt you down a link.

Happy Monday

Clutch Me Close

Hello babes! Happy Weekend! Hope you're all having a lovely time / got a lovely time planned. Bloody fureeezing at the moment seriously thinking of investing in a faux fur coat, what do you lovelies think?

Today seeing as it's Saturday a.k.a partayday time I've got a post based around the perfect Saturday night accessory - The Clutch bag. Now I'm slightly obsessed with these bad boys as I think they're such an easy and effortless way to inject a little style, colour or both into any evening look.
Here are my faves from the high-st:

What I Wore Wednesday 19/10/11

Hey lovelies! How're we all doing? Mid-week blues or happy that the weekend is finally approaching? Is it just me or has today been absolutely furrreeezing? I've had two pairs of tights on under my work trousers and still been shivering-brrr!
Winter is truly upon us it seems.

Appologies for slacking on the outfit posts again lately - finding someone to take the pics is quite tricky and I have a >terrible< track record of self photographing - including the time I dropped the camera on my toe, down the stairs... the list goes on
.

Today though I managed to bribe my little sister (big love to her-woo) and here's a couple of snaps of one of my fave cold weather combos:

1. Jumper - Republic - My absolute >favourite< this Autumn/Winter
2. Skirt - H&M Leather is my thing we all know this ;)
3. Boots - Internacionale (baargain £12.00)
4. Beret - Accessorise (does anyone know if I can stick in the washing machine?)
5. Rings - Assorted

Have a good night sweeties <3

Monday Must Have (17/10/11)

Hi lovelies, hope you're all well this rather Autumnal Monday morning - literally ALL the leaves I can see are now bright orange which does rather make me feel like we're 'properly' there now - yay!

Today I've got another gorgeous Monday 'must have' for you which I've styled up in a few different ways to prove just how much you all need to go buy it (go on - then I wont feel guilty ha-ha).

Let's have a look:

 Dorothy Perkins £25.00
Dotty P's you've come up trumps!
I absolutely adore the slightly whimsical, vintage feel of this dress. The colour is beautiful and although it'd obviously be classed as a 'neutral' shade - I think the polka dot detail, the nipped in waist and the sleeve embellishment combine to make it anything but dreary.

Here are a couple of ways I've styled it to show you that pretty dresses aren't just for Summer styling:

Outfit One
Firstly, let's forget the dress for a minute, how damn >cosy< does that jacket look? My goosebumps and I are craving it quite badly right now I can tell you. This outfit is very much about working a variety of Neutral shades together to create an interesting colour pallet. The boots and the jacket compliment each other perfectly with a slightly 'worn' feel whilst the gloves warm the outfit up with their richer shade. The bag adds a  lovely hint of colour to brighten up a dull day and the locket adds the perfect finishing touch. A little treasure on an Autumn morning.

Outfit Two
Outfit Two is a little bit more foxy. A little bit more dark Autumn night. The rich textures and bold accessories work together to create a luxurious after dark compilation. The cocktail rings and the beautiful studded bag (desperate for one just like this!) pile on the glamour. Add some asymmetric earrings into the mix and you have yourself the perfectly brewed winter style concoction with a twist. Cheers.

Outfit Three
It might just be me but I feel like outfit three makes you feel warmer just by looking at it. Those gorgeous fur lined boots teamed with that impossibly cosy looking fur gillet (H&M if you're interested) would keep you toasty as ... toast in the cold (gotta love my descriptive prowess) Piling on the accessories again and adding a warm toned clutch bag will warm the look of this outfit right up and hopefully keep the winter chill at bay. With the simple long sleeved black top underneath you'll be rocking the art of layering to perfection.

Outfit Four "The Blair"
Yes, I know I know - My other outfits don't have 'names' I'm being a very unfair stylist right now! But it would have just felt so very wrong not to name this after Miss Waldorf herself when I actually cannot look at this set without imagining her. -Breathes- this wasn't actually intentional I swear, I just wanted a more 'feminine' softer toned outfit to balance out the others. The bag was my starting point - absolutely adore the two tone colour and gorgeous chain. The shoes are probably one of the prettiest pairs I've seen this year and then as for the baby blue gloves - I just died! This is definitely not my personal 'style' but for any of you Preppy Upper-East-Side-Stylers - this ones for you! (Although I might have to 'borrow' the bag)

So there we are then honeys, hope you've enjoyed this weeks Monday Must Have!
For links to any of the items featured just leave me a comment below or tweet me and I'll get back to you ASAP.

Blaze of glory

Hiya chicks! How're you all doing? Can't beleive it's Thursday already the weeks seem to be whizzing by like they're on some kind of drug (or maybe that's just me - certainly feels like it!) Friday tomorrow then it'll be Halloween before we know it, bonfire night, Christmas, Summer 2012 - YIKES.

Anyway, before I get carried away with the future I wanted to explore a trend that I'm sure we all know is very 'Now'
:

Blazers
Blazers are quite simply everywhere and seem to be the go-to piece these days for chucking on over anything. I personally love them as I love a nicely tailored piece and anything that will make my last minute leggings + Long top combination look more chic is great with me!

Aside from the classic black + grey blazers around at the moment I've been inspired lately by the Autumnal shaded ones - perfect for a cosy A/W outfit. Here's my faves from the high st:

So there we are my loves - what's your take on Blazers?

Talk to me Tuesday - Chatting with Caroline's Catwalk.

Hey honeys, so sorry this post is up rather late in the day I've had a slightly manic one filled with working, working and uh more working! Still going although given that I'm now blog posting at the same time it might be time to call it a night or run the risk of talking to you about Health and Safety in Schools and my nightschool assessor on how fabulous Carolines Catwalk is.

'Carolines Catwalk?' I hear you murmur 'what is she on about this time?' Allow me to elaborate ;) the absolutely lovely Caroline from Carolines Catwalk was the lucky lady who won my Chanel Giveaway a couple of weeks back. As part of the 'prize' I wanted to share with you all a little insight into her blog and her life and use this oppurtunity to encourage you to check her out because she is just gorgeous and her blog is fast becoming one of my faves!

Let's find out a little more about her :

Hi Caroline, Congrats on winning the giveaway! Would you like to kick us of by giving us a little introduction to yourself:

Hi, thanks Sarah! I’m Caroline
I’m 25 and live in the UK. I studied English at uni and my dream job would be writing about celebrities and fashion on my favourite ‘heat’ magazine! I started blogging over the summer as a way to share my passion and ideas. I’m a total TV addict and also love baking and visiting markets.

1) Now on to the blog stuff ;) As an absolutely fabulous fellow blogger would you like to share with us what your lovely blog is all about?
My blog combines my love of fashion and celebrity. I like to keep up with what my favourite celebs have been snapped wearing and finding designer inspired pieces to emulate their style on a high street budget. I also focus on new trends and how to introduce them into your wardrobe and showcase some of my favourite brands and my most wanted items from their collections. I’m also planning on incorporating my love of cosmetics and writing about some of my favourite beauty products.

2) Did anything in particular inspire you to begin Caroline’s Catwalk (great blog name btw!)
I’d been reading some great blogs for a while and wanted to give it a go too. I love seeing what people have been buying and reading reviews of new products, my shopping wish list is growing by the day!

3) What would you say is your favourite part of being a blogger?
I love chatting on here and on twitter with likeminded people who share my passions. I really enjoy writing about what inspires me and it puts a smile on my face every time I receive a comment or see my follower count increase knowing that someone is interested in what I have to say.

4) Is there anything that surprised you particularly about the blog world? (E.G being more friendly than you thought, more widespread etc)
There is a great sense of community amongst bloggers, everyone is so friendly and helpful.

5) On the personal side of things who would you say is your ultimate fashion icon (if you're like me and completely indecisive feel free to list a few)? What about them inspires you and do you take elements of their style into account when purchasing your own goodies?
That’s a hard one to narrow down! Lauren Conrad is one of my ultimate style crushes, I don’t think I’ve ever seen her having an off day! She always looks great no matter if she’s dressed down in a t-shirt and jeans or glammed up at an event. I wish I had her wardrobe! I also like Fearne Cotton’s style, how she works current trends and mixes high street with designer pieces. I also really admire Florence Welch’s boho style and think she always looks fabulous. I take inspiration from their fashion choices but try to find more purse friendly options!

6) Would you say you were more of a designer treat girl or a high-street lady? Or something in between?
I’m definitely more of a high street lady, if only my budget stretched to designer! I do love designer pieces though, especially bags as I think they’ll last you a lifetime and will go with lots of outfits so you will get your money’s worth in the end!

7) Relating to the above question what is your personal favourite high-end and high-street store and why?
High end- I enjoy looking round Selfridges and House of Fraser as they have lots of great designers all under one roof. I also have to go in a Mulberry shop whenever I pass one to look at the beautiful bags!
High street- New look has lots of great budget buys and an impressive range of shoes. H&M has become one of my favourite places to shop over the last year, they always have some really unique designs, and Topshop is always on trend.

8) How would you describe your personal style? Is it set to one particular style or are you prone to floating between a few?
I would describe my personal style as quite girly. I love wearing dresses and have quite a lot of floral and polka dot prints in my wardrobe. I like experimenting with new trends but think it’s important to know what works for you.

9) What would be your dream everyday outfit?
My dream everyday outfit would be a gorgeous dress with a blazer on top and I would accessorize with a beautiful vintage scarf. I have a bit of a scarf obsession but believe they really can make an outfit! My dream shoes would be some beautiful black patent Louboutin heels, no matter how hard they were to walk in!

10) If you won £1000 where would you head to spend it?
I would head straight to Mulberry to buy my beloved Bayswater bag and then probably splash the rest buying some new outfits on the high street. I really need a new winter coat with the cold weather creeping in so that would probably be at the top of my list too, if only I could decide what style I want!

11) What would your key pieces for this Autumn/ Winter season be
My key pieces for this season would be sheer fabrics, I really love sheer shirts right now. Chunky knitwear, especially big cosy cardigans to throw on over a dress. I’ve been hunting for a new blazer recently to wear over dresses or smarten up a pair of jeans. I seem to be drawn to camel colours right now and think it can look especially stylish and chic when paired with black. I also can’t wait for party dresses to start filling up the shops this season!

12) Finally do you have any advice for bloggers who are just starting out or maybe even only thinking about starting a blog of their own?
I’d say just give it a go, you don’t know what you’re missing! Write about what you love and enjoy. I was nervous writing my first post and it can feel a bit daunting in the beginning but stick with it and it’ll be worth it in the long run!

So there we are my lovelies! Mega thanks to Caroline for doing this interview and please go and check out Carolines Catwalk! It wont let you down - promise!

Monday must have - With a twist

Hello beauties, hope you're all well this rather depressingly cloudy Monday! Another week begins and with less than a month till bonfire night I'm officially getting scared of how fast this year is going!

Todays 'Monday must have' has a little twist. A couple of weeks ago I was overwhelmed with how many of you complimented my little black H&M dress that can be seen here
As a lot of you commented this dress is so amazingly versatile I thought it was only right to feature it here on the 'Must Have' spot and show you a couple of ways that it could be worn.

Here's the dress :
It's on sale for an absolute bargain price of
H&M £12.99

And now here we have a few different ways I thought this dress could be styled :
Outfit 1
Classic, cute and undenisably chic this outfit is the perfect embodiment of the Monochrome trend that's gracing the high-street at the moment. Spiced up with a gorgeous printed scarf to add a little colour and flair this set could take you anywhere from desk to drinks.
Outfit Two
To me this is exactly the kind of outfit I'd love to be rocking his fall. A little bohemian style with some luxurious Autumnal colours and topped off with the cosiest looking fur gillet I've seen for a long while. Brrrilliant.
Outfit Three
As well as casual looks this dress is the perfect base point for a fierce rock n roll chic outfit build. The Leopard print booties are ridiculously on trend and that gorgeous red clutch would hold your party essentials in style. Top off with a bright red pout to finish off that party look with pizazz.
Outfit Four
Look four is an incredibly laid back look which'd be perfect for running errands. The pretty scarf adds a little flair to the otherwise basic colour palett whilst the two toned bag adds a little luxury. Comfort and style - who said the two can't go together?

So there we are my loves - four ways in which you could dress this LBD up or down. How would you wear it?
Also - if there's an item in particular for any of the sets you're interested in drop me a comment and I'll find you a link!

Have  a good Monday
