Soap and Glory(ous)

Hello chicks, hope you're all well and good!
The end of my working week has finally arrived and I couldn't be more thrilled, plans for this weekend include a delicious day with Mr H20 tomorrow and lots of chocolate - so far so scrummy!

Now, on to todays post, I have an absolute obsession with Soap and Glory products. Wether it be their bubble bath, shower gel, scrub or lotion I'm all over it (and it's all over me) as soon as I can manage!

Lately, I was thrilled to discover that they'd branched further into makeup and had a lovely little range in my local boots. After about an hours perusal (Mr H20 was very patient that day) I settled upon selecting a gorgeous looking foundation to try out.

As with all Soap & Glory products the foundation is delightfully packaged and looks truly gorgeous on my makeup table. A really lovely added selling point for me was the fact that not only does the makeup work as a Primer AND a foundation, it also includes SPF 15 protection - beautiful and good for your skin.

As most of you will know by now I am stupidly pale - think a ghost who is feeling under the weather! And so I went for the lightest shade they offer which is cutely named "The fairest of them all" - Cue much giggling + texting of my best friend to tell her I was now snow white.

Enough of my immaturity, let's see how the product looked on.
Here's me barefaced (brace yourselves!)

Hai Freckles. Nice to see ya.

And here's after a light coating (I sound like I've painted myself!) of 'The Fairest of them all'

Despite initial reservations - The foundation looks VERY dark when first applied, warning for you if you try it out - give it at least 5 minutes to settle (I was panicking away ha-ha) I'm quite impressed with the product. The coverage is definitely decent and it blended well and gave me a far more even skin-tone. Freckles were reduced (not that I don't like them they just stand out SO much against my white skin some days)

On the negative side I did find the product quite drying to the nose/eyebrow area but I think next time I'll just have to add a little more moisturiser first.

Soap and Glory foundations retails at £11.00 usually but is currently on offer at £9.00 in Boots.
Snap yours up HERE.

Have any of you tried Soap and Glory foundations?

  3. I've often had a browse of the soup and glory make up products but am always a bit shy to try new foundations. The coverage looks really good! although you do have lovely even toned clear skin anyway! :) when I run out of the one I'm using I might just be brave and give soup and glory a go :)

  4. Vanilla - They're so cute! I'm totally the same I'm always completely nervy because I'm so pale. Thankyou! My skin is pretty good I'm quite lucky with it being clear although it gets very dry in winter. The soap + glory is quite a light foundation which would be perfect for Summer I think :) it feels more like a tinted moisturiser even though it's quite a full coverage xx

  7. Amy - It did appear SO dark to start with but definitely set much much lighter to a degree where it's definitely wearable especially in summer :) xx

  10. I love their shower products but haven't tried any of their make up yet! Good to hear the foundation is suitable for us paler girls too! Love the post you did for Boohoo today, Sports Luxe is a trend I've hidden from as I have no idea how to style it without looking like I'm heading down the gym!!.. but with the feminine top, patterned scarf and pastel accents it really works! Have a lovely weekend, my weekend starts tomorrow too.. if I ever get my work finished this evening!!

  16. I've only ever used their shower products before like their hand scream, flake scrub etc etc. To be honest I was slightly in the dark about them even having a make up range out (apart from the lip plumping lip gloss!) You're foundation looks really good though, skin looks really nice so I might just pop into Boots and succumb to it!

  20. I've heard many good things about their products and really liked an interview with the founder published in one of the latest Elle's (I think...) I think the packaging is adorable and my only reservation is that they use parabens in some of their products, which is a real shame.
By the way, not really sure why you need a foundation - you have such an amazing skin and your skin tone is a perfect English rose type! I think you look gorgeous au naturel.
